Our Story

In 2010 Two friends were drinking some wine hanging out in a hot tub looking at the stars. One of these ladies suggested having a show in Ocean City. Maybe it was the wine, maybe it was the blind faith in each other but the other lady said ok! The sidebar ( she had never even been to OC before). 

So we planned and planned and lost hours upon hours of sleep to try to get this right. We planned for a solid year before even announcing the event.  Our goal was to provide an all inclusive event for everyone to feel welcomed. 

 Several years later we have  nurtured Art of the Belly and it is an all inclusive belly dance event. Created to provide the dance community with quality instruction and a home for participants to showcase their talents. Our goal is to provide a space for inspiration and for innovation in a relaxed and supportive environment. Attendees experience fun, lively entertainment and a sense of belonging. 

Art of the Belly has been described by some of our  returning guests as "the Super Bowl of belly dance" and "the belly dance New Year." Our after parties have become legendary stories. The event has a unique welcoming energy. We have a nurturing environment for beginners and growth opportunities for seasoned professional dancers.
